CAN ANYONE BE HYPNOTISED?
A majority of people can achieve at least a light state of trance and this is usually sufficient enough to gain the benefit of the therapeutic goals.
WHAT DOES HYPNOSIS FEEL LIKE?
In general people feel very relaxed and comfortable. Feelings of lightness, heaviness (like sinking right down into the couch) or tingling may occur, this is a completely natural and normal response. You will remember most things that are said but, just like when you listen to a speech, you will not recall everything. Your mind will accept any suggestions that are appropriate.
WILL I LOSE CONSCIOUSNESS?
No. Hypnotherapy works only with your cooperation, you will be fully aware of your surroundings at all times. It is like daydreaming so you can return to full consciousness whenever you decide to.
ARE THERE ANY DANGERS?
No. Hypnosis is simply a relaxed state and you will be in full control at all times.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is generally a short-term therapy. The number of sessions needed will vary, however, and this is always discussed during the initial consultation as every individual has different goals. As a guide, for anxiety, stress, low-selfesteem etc around 8-12 weekly sessions will be needed to gain the most out of the therapy.
